Previously, I used 3 column template designed to the lowest denominator of screen resolution 800x600px (see )Blogger for Dummies is now 3 column. That was when a significant percentage of visitors were still using the small 800x600 screen resolution. However, things have changed and there are more surfers with large/wide screen. The last time I checked the visitors statistics, only 2% or less of the visitors are still using 800x600 screen resolution. The vast majority of visitors have screen resolution of 1024x768px and above. See Blogger Tips and Tricks is now 4 column.
I have now started using 4 column Minima template. With a wider blog Header, I can now place two 468x90px link units immediately below the blog Header. It is easy to do. Just paste 2 468x90px link units into a HTML/Javascript gadget (Page Element).
Now only can I put 2 468x90 link units side by side below the blog Header, I can now bring up the Amazon Omakase skyscraper unit from below the fold to above the fold in the first right sidebar and still have the Label List in the second right sidebar above the fold. I have much more room to play around with and this gives more flexibility.
